Changes to SNAP Work Requirements Beginning October 1st

Important changes are coming to SNAP benefits that may affect your eligibility. The age requirement for work-capable adults without children (known as ABAWDs) is expanding to include those up to 54 years old, an increase from the previous limit of 52 years. Additionally, time-limit waivers that previously offered flexibility in 33 parishes are expiring.

If you're between 52 and 54 years old or live in one of the affected parishes, these changes might impact your benefits. We understand this can feel overwhelming, but help is available to navigate these changes.
