Need help with your benefit application?

The New Orleans Health Department offers application assistance to New Orleans residents for the following benefit programs:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Medicaid
  • Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC)

NOHD will provide a confidential and secure space for residents seeking help with completing their applications to receive benefits. Interested residents will receive informational materials and resources, computer access, and guidance on submitting an application.

What to Bring

Proof of Identity SSN or passport
and
Driver’s license, state ID, or other government-issued ID
Proof of Address Recent utility bill, lease, rent receipt, or official mail showing your address
Proof of Income Pay stubs from the last 30 days, employer letter, or benefit award letters
Proof of Household Size (for SNAP only) Birth certificates, Social Security cards, or school records for everyone applying
