Getting around New Orleans safely and affordably is easy with a variety of transportation options. Whether you’re heading home after a night out or planning your daily commute, these services can help you travel responsibly:

Regional Transit Authority (RTA)
  • RTA offers buses and streetcars throughout the city, providing a reliable and affordable way to get around.

Blue Bikes
  • New Orleans’ bike-share program makes it simple to rent a bike for short trips.
  • Download the Blue Bikes app to find stations and start riding.
Bike Easy
  • Bike Easy promotes safe biking and offers resources for cyclists in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Health Department is excited to be offering the below programming targeted at 18-24-year-olds throughout the city of New Orleans:

  • Education presentations on the dangers of drinking and driving, consequences of a DUI, physiological impacts of alcohol, and safe alternative transportation options.
  • Impairment goggle activities and education on the impact of alcohol on your ability to drive.
  • Tabling Community Events: Educational materials on DUI rates and information on safe routes and alternative transportation options in New Orleans.
  • Information on RTA routes and Opportunity Pass information.
  • Safe bike routes throughout the city.
