New Sex Education Opportunities!
The New Orleans Health Department is now offering free sex education facilitator training to school staff in Orleans Parish. Trainees will be provided lesson plans, resources, and technical assistance to deliver evidence-informed sexual health modules that align with Louisiana state standards and help satisfy grade-level expectations for health.

Created in 2026 by the New Orleans Health Department, New Orleans Adolescent Reproductive Health Project, and the Sexual Health Education and Rights Lab, this guide gives parents and caregivers age-appropriate tools and local resources to talk with youth with confidence. Use the following search tools to find affordable, confidential sexual and reproductive health services through primary care providers in the New Orleans area:
- 504HealthNet “Find a Clinic” Map: Locate affordable clinics offering primary care, STI testing/treatment, and reproductive health services within the Greater New Orleans area.
- Bedsider “Find a Health Center” Tool: Search for birth control and reproductive health providers locally and nationwide.
- New Orleans Health Department STI Testing Locator Map: Find confidential STI/HIV testing and treatment locations within New Orleans, many of which are free or low-cost.
- Bounce to Zero is a citywide initiative to end new HIV transmission and connect those living with HIV to care and resources. Free at-home HIV test kits are available to residents of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, St. James, and Plaquemines parishes through the Bounce to Zero webpage.
- New Orleans Health Department’s HCH Clinics: The New Orleans Health Department's HCH offers primary care services to individuals regardless of insurance or housing status. In addition to primary care, reproductive and sexual health services, including STI testing, treatment, and access to contraception, are readily available to patients.

Sexual Health Education from Partner Orgs
The mission of NOARHP is to ensure that all Orleans Parish public school students have access to age-appropriate, evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and comprehensive sexual health education, leading to safer and more responsible sexual health decisions.
NOARHP places LSU Health, Tulane School of Medicine, and UQ-Ochsner Clinical School Student volunteers in New Orleans-area elementary, middle, and high schools to teach free, comprehensive sexual health lessons adherent to Louisiana state law.
