The Public Health Emergencies Team works to protect our community before, during, and after emergencies. Working alongside city departments, healthcare providers, and government partners, we ensure New Orleans is ready to respond to any public health crisis.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for emergency text alerts from the City by texting NOLAREADY to 77295. Residents can also follow @NOLAReady on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook or sign up for email and text message alerts online. Our alert system keeps you informed about everything from severe weather to public health emergencies.
Enhancing Your Safety with Smart911 Take your emergency preparedness further with Smart911, our comprehensive safety profile system. After registering for basic alerts, create your detailed profile to help emergency responders better assist you during a crisis.
The New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps offers opportunities for both medical and non-medical volunteers to promote public health preparedness through outreach and to respond to public health emergencies alongside New Orleans Health Department staff and other City/State partners.
