MICHOUD BLVD. RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT 15 PERCENT COMPLETE

The long-awaited Michoud Blvd. Reconstruction Project is approximately 15 percent complete. Construction crews have placed new asphalt at the location of the new bus turn around on Dwyer Rd. and on the northbound travel lane between Chef Menteur Hwy. and the 4600 block of Michoud Blvd. New sidewalks and curbs have been replaced, as needed while construction crews continue to install the new sewer force main in the neutral ground.

The $3.8M reconstruction project includes:

• Installing a new bus turn around on Dwyer Rd.;
• Replacing the existing water, sewer and drainage lines from Chef Menteur Hwy. to Dwyer Rd.;
• Repaving the roadway in concrete between the Michoud Bridge and Dwyer Rd., and repaving the roadway in asphalt from the Michoud Bridge to Chef Menteur Hwy.; and
• Installing new sidewalks and American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.

The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc. and is being built by Cycle Construction Company, LLC.
