French Quarter Sidewalk Improvement Program continues on Decatur St.

The City of New Orleans’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC recently began installing sidewalks along the 800 - 1300 blocks of Decatur St. as part of the French Quarter Sidewalk Improvement Program, Phase 2. 

Crews are currently performing work on the river side 1100 block of Decatur St.  Work the river side of the 800 and 900 blocks of Decatur St. is scheduled to begin the week of July 31, 2017. Work on the lake side of the 1000- 1300 blocks of Decatur St. is substantially complete.

The scope of work includes:

• Removing and replacing sidewalks along the 800 - 1300 blocks of Decatur St.;
• Installing ADA-compliant curb ramps;
• Installing access ramps for impacted storefronts / residents during construction; and
• Resetting street name tiles. 

 

The overall project is approximately 55 percent complete and is anticipated to be wrapped up in September 2017, weather permitting.
