French Quarter Sidewalk Improvement Program continues on Decatur St.

The City of New Orleans’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC recently began installing sidewalks along the 800 - 1300 blocks of Decatur St. as part of the French Quarter Sidewalk Improvement Program, Phase 2. 

The scope of work includes:

Removing and replacing sidewalks along the 800 - 1300 blocks of Decatur St.;

• Installing ADA-compliant curb ramps;
• Installing access ramps for impacted storefronts / residents during construction; and
• Resetting street name tiles. 

Crews are currently performing work on the lake side of the 1300, 1200, 1100 and 1000 blocks of Decatur St. Once completed, work on the river side of Decatur St. between the 1300 and 1000 blocks.

The overall project is approximately 35 percent complete and is anticipated to be wrapped up in the mid-August 2017 time frame, weather permitting.
