City of New Orleans to Activate Additional School Zone Flashers on Monday, Oct. 28

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) will activate school zone flashers at several additional locations starting Monday, Oct. 28. This phased activation is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with State law and enhance safety for students and drivers.

City of New Orleans has created a website for residents to obtain information regarding school zone cameras. The Department of Public Works (DPW) has been and is continuing to update all school zone cameras to comply with newly enacted state laws.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Full Closure on Julia Street at Baronne Street

The City of New Orleans announced that starting today, Oct. 16, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor, Hard Rock Construction LLC, will fully close Julia Street at the Baronne Street intersection for drainage upgrades and street restoration.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closures on Poydras Street from South Liberty Street to LaSalle Street

The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, will close one lane in each direction on Poydras Street between South Liberty and LaSalle Streets.

UPDATE: Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures on Filmore Avenue Between Arts Street and Venus Street

The City of New Orleans today announced the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractors Barriere Construction, LLC. will be closing both lanes on Filmore Avenue between Arts Street and Venus Street on Sept. 23 starting at 6 a.m. and ending on Sept. 24 at 5 p.m.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closures on Poydras and Lasalle Streets for ADA Ramp Work Starting Sept. 16

NEW ORLEANS —The City of New Orleans today announced that starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC will close one lane in each direction at Poydras and Lasalle Streets for approximately one week to accommodate the restoration of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps in the median.

The City of New Orleans today announced the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Impetus Infrastructure, LLC will postpone their planned closure of the intersection of Freret Street and the northbound lane of South Carrollton Avenue to Sept. 16 at 7 a.m. due to the forecast of rain this week.

City of New Orleans Announces Preparations Ahead of Tropical Storm Francine

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Street Closure on Western Street

The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Monday, Sept. 9, access to Western Street will be closed between Elysian Fields Avenue and Mirabeau Avenue. The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works’ contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC, in conjunction with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, will be performing a water valve closure to perform a waterline tie-in. This temporary closure will remain in effect for approximately three days and a detour will be in place.
