TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF EASTBOUND LANES OF OLD GENTILLY ROAD (LOUISA ST TO DESIRE PKWY)

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that starting Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 a.m., there will be full lane closures to all through traffic in Eastbound lanes of Old Gentilly Road,  within the current construction footprint running from Louisa Street to Desire Parkway. These full lane closures are expected to last from 7 a.m.– 5:30 p.m. to allow SWBNO to complete waterline repairs. These waterline repairs are needed to complete the concrete panel replacements already underway.  After SWBNO water work is completed, traffic will resume the construction traffic pattern that was in place to complete the roadway work.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Road Closure Westbound on Allen Toussiant Boulevard

The City of New Orleans announced that beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Barriere Construction Company, will temporarily execute a road closure to vehicular traffic for approximately 3 days to accommodate utility construction at the Warrington Drive and Allen Toussaint Boulevard intersection. This road closure is necessary to complete essential waterline installation for the 1800 block of Allen Toussaint Boulevard in accordance with the RR405 NOFOG Project.

TEMPORARY INTERSECTION CLOSURE OF LOWERLINE ST. AND BIRCH ST.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, the City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works’ contractor, Renegade Construction, LLC., will temporarily close the intersection of Lowerline St. and Birch St. approximately two days, through October 29, to accommodate roadway restoration as a part of the East Carrollton B&C construction project. Public safety is our top priority; signage and traffic control measures such as barrels and fencing will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.

**UPDATED** TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF PARIS AVENUE FOR RIGHT OF WAY ASPHALT IMPROVEMENT

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 a.m. there will be asphalt removal, patching, and milling at the below locations. All areas are anticipated to be completed in approximately 3 weeks once started:

  • Paris Avenue patches:
    • 1 asphalt patch at John F. Kenndey High School - between Aviators & Burbank
    • 1 asphalt patch at the intersection of Paris Avenue & Wakefield Place

**UPDATED*** TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF ALCEE FORTIER AND PELTIER

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that starting the week of Monday, Oct. 27 at 7 a.m., there will be intermittent closures to through traffic on lanes of 4700 block of Alcee Fortier and 14000 block of Peltier. These closures are expected to last for approximately three weeks.

Concrete panel replacement will impact both blocks and at their intersection.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES FOR RIGHT OF WAY ASPHALT IMPROVEMENT

 The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning the week of Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 a.m. there will be asphalt milling and overlay at the below locations. All areas are anticipated to be completed in approximately 3 weeks in each area:

  • Napoleon Avenue (Loyola Avenue - St. Charles Avenue) - riverbound lanes only
  • Press Drive (Chef Menteur Highway - Old Gentilly Road)

  • North Galvez Street (Almonaster Avenue - Clouet Street)

  • 1600-1800 Abundance Street

***UPDATE: Temporary Lane Reduction: The 2400 through 2900 blocks of South Claiborne Avenue

Beginning Tuesday, October 14th , weather permitting, the Office of Resilience & Sustainability’s contractor, RNGD Infrastructure, LLC, will implement a temporary road reduction in 2400 block of South Claiborne Avenue to begin roadway restoration for the DPS01 Watershed (Broadmoor HMGP) Drainage Upgrades and Green Infrastructure Project (Phase I).

ROAD CLOSURE EXTENSION IN THE 2300 BLOCK OF MAGAZINE

On Wednesday, Oct. 8, starting at 9 a.m., Magazine Street will be closing off the intersection of First Street in addition to the existing closure of the 2300 block of Magazine Street, to vehicular traffic to facilitate utility repairs, by Department of Public Works contractor. Safety is our main priority; therefore, we are encouraging everyone to follow all traffic signage and construction directions placed in the area. Traffic will reopen by 6 p.m. on Nov. 28, weather permitting.
