The City of New Orleans today announced that Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC will be performing a lane closure on the 500 block of South Galvez Street starting Aug. 14 through Sept. 11 to accommodate the utility work as part of the Iberville, Tulane-Gravier, LGD, CBD Group A project. Local traffic will be accommodated to enter and exit the neighborhood.
The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, Aug. 14, at approximately 7 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW) will close the left travel lane in the southbound direction on the Alvar Bridge. This closure is part of ongoing streetlight repairs managed by DPW.

The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning Friday, Aug. 9 at 7 a.m. Department of Public Works’ contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC will temporarily close the intersection of Iberville Street and Burgundy Street for approximately two weeks to accommodate utilities and roadway construction as part of the Canal Street & Rampart Street construction project. The road closure will remain in effect until Friday, Aug. 23 6:30 p.m. Signage and traffic control measures, such as barrels and fencing, will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.

The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, Aug. 7, at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), will close the left travel lane in both eastbound and westbound directions along the Pontchartrain Expressway between Metairie Road and the railroad trestle. This closure is part of ongoing streetlight repairs managed by DPW.

The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Monday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC will begin nighttime construction on Poydras Street, stretching from Convention Center Boulevard to S. Claiborne Avenue. The work will occur between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night to minimize daytime traffic disruptions and expedite project completion, continuing through October 2024. This nighttime work is being completed in conjunction with the ongoing daytime work on Poydras Street.

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rick Hathaway yesterday was joined by Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) General Superintendent Steve Nelson and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Supervisory Emergency Manager Ronnie Fairley to break ground on the $21.9 million Milan Group A project. Representatives from the Delachaise Neighborhood Association, CLIMANA Neighborhood Association and Milan Neighborhood Association were also in attendance. This comprehensive 183-block roadwork project is FEMA-funded and aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents and ensuring the longevity of critical City infrastructure.

The City of New Orleans today announced the Department of Public Works’ (DPW) construction contractor Command Construction Industries, LLC will extend traffic pattern changes near the intersection Franklin Avenue at North Villere Street through August 16 to accommodate the tie-in of a 36" RCP into a box culvert located within the intersection of Franklin Avenue and N. Villere Street.

The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, July 17 at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LaDOTD), will close the eastbound right lane along the stretch of the Metairie Road Overpass between the Lake Lawn entrance and Hollygrove Street. This closure will include the Exit 232.
