The City of New Orleans announced that beginning Friday, August 7, 2026, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, will execute a temporary lane shift for vehicular traffic for approximately one month to accommodate watermain construction. Construction will be ongoing at the Florida Avenue and Clouet Street intersection within the parking lane. This lane shift is necessary to complete repairs on the large 48-inch and 30-inch watermains in accordance with the RR403 Desire Group C and D NOFOG Project. Vehicular traffic will still be able to utilize Florida Avenue to travel.

NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans announced today that, starting Thursday, July 30, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will close the Berg Canal Bridge eastbound on Morrison Road. This closure is necessary to mobilize equipment needed to accommodate bridge repairs as part of the Morrison Road Improvement Project. The closure is expected to remain in effect until September 2026.
During this time construction crews will perform approach slab replacements.
NEW ORLEANS – The Department of Public Works (DPW), in coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), will reopen the southbound Jourdan Road bridge connection to eastbound Almonaster Avenue on Friday, July 31.

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) advises residents and motorists that roadway improvement work will begin on Friday, July 31 2026, along St. Charles Avenue between Jefferson Avenue and Napoleon Avenue as part of DPW Project No. 771, an ongoing initiative to improve roadway conditions throughout the city.
Beginning July 31, DPW contractor Hardrock Construction Co. LLC will begin milling and asphalt overlay operations along the corridor. Work will occur as a rolling operation and is expected to continue through September 11, 2026, weather permitting.

NEW ORLEANS - On Thursday July 2, 2026, the City of New Orleans announced the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, would temporarily execute two lane closures to vehicular traffic for approximately 2 weeks. Due to previous rain delays and upcoming inclement weather, crews will need an additional 3 weeks to restore the inner lane and complete the flip of construction to the outer lane. Vehicular travel will still be maintained around active construction. Crews will only be closing the lane in which active construction is ongoing. These lane closures are necessary to complete the essential roadway restoration of the intersection in accordance with the RR403 Desire Group C and D NOFOG Project.
New Orleans – The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the left lane of Interstate 10 westbound between Mayo Boulevard and the Dwyer Road overpass will be closed on Thursday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New Orleans – The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the right lane of Interstate 10 westbound between the Morrison Road on-ramp and the Chef Menteur Highway (U.S. 90) off-ramp, including the Morrison Road westbound on-ramp, will be closed on Thursday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The temporary lane closure is necessary to allow DPW crews to perform streetlight maintenance along the interstate corridor.
New Orleans – The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the left lane of southbound Woodland Hwy. (LA407) between Woodland Ave. and LA 406 will be closed Wednesday, July 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews inspect damage to streetlight infrastructure caused by theft and determine the appropriate path forward for repairs.

New Orleans – The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the southbound (interstate-bound) Crowder Boulevard Bridge over the Morrison Canal at Morrison Road will be closed beginning Friday, July 10, to facilitate necessary bridge repairs.
To maintain traffic through the corridor, all southbound traffic will be temporarily shifted onto the northbound Crowder Boulevard Bridge. The northbound bridge will operate with one lane of northbound traffic and one lane of southbound traffic across the bridge. After crossing the Morrison Canal, southbound traffic will be transitioned back onto the southbound side of Crowder Boulevard. (See map.)
June 22, 2026 | From City of New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the previously announced Interstate 10 Westbound lane closure, which was postponed due to Tropical Storm Arthur, has been rescheduled.
The closure will now take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During that time, the right lane on Interstate 10 Westbound between Ransom Street and the base of the High-Rise Bridge will be closed. The closure will also include Exit 240B to U.S. Highway 90 (Chef Menteur Highway) and the westbound Interstate 10 entrance ramp from U.S. Highway 90 (Chef Menteur Highway).
