The Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to make New Orleans’ streets safer, more accessible, and better connected for all users, whether walking, biking, driving, or taking transit. Broad Street Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon is Activated
Signage for the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon at the Lafitte Greenway has arrived and been installed, and the beacon is now fully activated. The Broad Street Pedestrian Improvement Project is in its final construction phase and will be finalized following walk-through inspections of the corridor. The project is in its final inspection phase, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for November 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. For details, contact DPWprojectinfo@nola.gov
Residents Invited to Help Shape the Morrison Road Improvements
The Morrison Road (Mayo–Bullard) project is a $23.6 million roadway improvement effort funded by the Federal Highway Administration (80%) and the City’s bond program (20%). Work includes bridge reconstruction, pavement and sidewalk repairs, ADA upgrades, greenspace enhancements, and new bike lanes. The project also eliminates one eastbound travel lane to support multimodal travel and help reduce speeding.
The City is planning a pre-construction community meeting and is collecting contact information for residents and businesses along the Morrison corridor between Mayo Boulevard and Bullard Avenue.
