Free Short-Term Parking for Early Voters at City Hall

The City of News Orleans and the Department of Public Works (DPW) are committed to helping residents exercise their right to vote with ease. During early voting periods — from Sept. 27 through Oct. 4. Excluding Sunday — the city will provide free short-term parking (one hour or less) on select streets near City Hall to support voters visiting the polling place inside City Hall.

Where to Park:

  • Lasalle Street – from Poydras Street to Gravier Street
  • Perdido Street – from Lasalle Street to Loyola Street

During these periods, DPW installs clear signage along these blocks noting that the free parking is for early voters only. Please remember that this waiver applies only while you are voting; regular parking enforcement resumes outside of early voting hours and dates.

By removing parking costs as a barrier, the City is encouraging full participation in the democratic process. Make your plan to vote early, take advantage of this free parking option, and let your voice be heard.
