July 21, 2026 | From City of New Orleans
New Orleans – The City of New Orleans advises motorists that the left lane of Interstate 10 westbound between Mayo Boulevard and the Dwyer Road overpass will be closed on Thursday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The temporary lane closure is necessary to allow DPW crews to perform streetlight maintenance along the interstate corridor.
Motorists traveling in the area should expect delays and are encouraged to use caution, reduce speed, and follow all posted traffic control devices. Drivers are encouraged to allow additional travel time or consider an alternate route, if possible.
The closure has been approved by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and is weather permitting. Please note that this work may be postponed due to Tropical Storm Bertha. If weather conditions require rescheduling, the City will provide an update.
