NEW ORLEANS – The Department of Public Works (DPW), in coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), will reopen the southbound Jourdan Road bridge connection to eastbound Almonaster Avenue on Friday, July 31.
The bridge was temporarily closed as a precaution to allow for additional engineering evaluation following a structural inspection. Based on the results of those evaluations, engineers have determined the bridge can safely reopen to traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to continue exercising caution while traveling through the area and to follow all posted traffic control devices.
DPW appreciates the public's patience and cooperation throughout the temporary closure.
