The Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce the successful completion of surface and subsurface infrastructure repairs on Girod Street (Loyola Ave. – S. Liberty St.) as part of the DPW716 Right of Way (ROW) Project. The work, performed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC, began in May 2024 and was completed in December 2024.
The project included street resurfacing, roadway repaving, sidewalk replacements, and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The DPW716 ROW Improvement Project also included work at the following locations:
Throughout the project, DPW prioritized safety and ensured minimal disruption to the community by maintaining local access for residents, deliveries, and emergency services. Traffic control measures, including signage, barrels, and fencing, were in place to guide drivers and pedestrians safely through work zones.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this process. These improvements will enhance accessibility, safety, and mobility in these critical areas for years to come.
QUESTIONS: If you have questions about the project, please contact the Department of Public Works at 504-658-8000 or email us at dpw@nola.gov.
