The project included street resurfacing, roadway repaving, sidewalk replacements, and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps at intersections.

Project Locations

The DPW716 ROW Improvement Project also included work at the following locations:

  • Poydras Street (S. Claiborne Ave. – S. Liberty St.)
  • Poydras Street (Loyola Ave. – Convention Center Blvd.)
  • Julia Street (Convention Center Blvd. – Loyola Ave.)
  • Julia Street and Howard Ave. Extensions
  • Girod Street (Loyola Ave. – S. Liberty St.)

Project Overview

Throughout the project, DPW prioritized safety and ensured minimal disruption to the community by maintaining local access for residents, deliveries, and emergency services. Traffic control measures, including signage, barrels, and fencing, were in place to guide drivers and pedestrians safely through work zones.

We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this process. These improvements will enhance accessibility, safety, and mobility in these critical areas for years to come.
