Hibben Bridge Area Construction Update
As of Feb. 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began construction activities in the Hibben Bridge area as part of its Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Program (SELA). Upcoming City of New Orleans Project
Following completion of the Corps’ work in this area, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) anticipates beginning its related infrastructure improvements.
The City is currently in the award phase of procurement and anticipates construction to begin Spring 2026, pending final approvals.
Additional details regarding the City’s project scope, schedule, and traffic impacts will be shared as they become available.
The City of New Orleans is closely coordinating scheduling efforts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help minimize impacts to residents and motorists during the transition between projects.
