Important Information About Drainage and Alleyway Work

Alleyways are designed to serve as high points, with water intended to flow both toward the cross streets and through each property to the frontage streets, ultimately entering the subsurface drainage system.

The City is currently regrading alleyways to restore them to their original grade, reflecting the standard design levels. We are not modifying or changing the original grades — only restoring the alleyways to their intended elevations to support proper drainage as originally designed.

What to Expect During Construction

Residents and businesses should be aware of the following potential construction impacts:

✅ Minimal Impact on Trash Collection – Trash trucks will still have access to alleyways.
✅ Garage Access – Temporary limited access for properties near active work zones.
⚠️ Dust & Noise – Expect typical construction-related noise and dust.
⚠️ Traffic Delays – Alleyways will remain accessible, but temporary delays may occur.
⚠️ School Commute Disruptions – Possible delays during drop-off and pick-up times for schools that use the alleyways.
