Voter Education Week
Annually, Registrar of Voters’ Offices statewide launch Voter Registration Week. The Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters’ Office for over ten years has partnered with libraries, universities, colleges, schools, fraternities, sororities, agencies, businesses, organizations, etc., to promote the vote in Orleans Parish.
Election staff and our partners work cooperatively to register individuals to vote and provide other services connected to the vote. Please check back for more information on Voter Registration Week 2024.
While voter registration is an ongoing endeavor and responsibility of the Registrars’ office, Voter Registration Week is a statewide effort focused on the importance of the vote. We solicit “people resources” (volunteers) to team with election staff during Voter Registration Week and throughout the year to increase voter registration and participation.
The Registrar's Office encourages Orleans communities and organizations to use our office as a resource for voter education purposes. A request for our participation must be submitted two weeks prior to the event. Please note high volume election cycles may cause us to re-schedule or provide alternative assistance. Private elections may have a charge, please contact our office or the Secretary of State to determine costs if any.
If you have any questions regarding voter outreach please contact Ms. Danielle Duplessis- Hammond, Chief Deputy Registrar and Outreach Coordinator, at (504) 658-8300.
