Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG)
Cutting pollution. Lowering bills. Creating local jobs.
In July 2024, the U.S. EPA awarded the City of New Orleans nearly $50 million under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) Program—marking the largest climate investment in the City’s history. Over the next five years, these funds will advance seven community-led projects addressing emissions, equity, public health, and workforce development.

Blue Bikes Expansion
Expands New Orleans’ bike share system to 2,000 bikes, adding more e-bikes and new stations in historically underserved neighborhoods—making low-cost, low-carbon transportation accessible to more residents.

Downtown Bikeways
Constructs 6 miles of low stress bikeways connecting neighborhoods near downtown, improving safety for riders of all ages and abilities while reducing transportation emissions.

E-Bike Rebates
Provides 3,000 point-of-sale rebates for the purchase of e-bikes, with additional incentives for low- to moderate-income residents and people who rely on bikes for work or daily travel.

Municipal Building Energy Upgrades
Retrofits 41 City-owned buildings with energy-efficient lighting, HVAC systems, and controls, and installs rooftop solar on 14 municipal facilities—reducing operating costs and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Launches a citywide building energy benchmarking program for large commercial buildings, providing tools and technical assistance to track and improve energy use.
