Supporting Our Community: HIV/AIDS Services

Comprehensive Care Through Ryan White

The New Orleans Health Department manages the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, providing essential healthcare and support services to uninsured and underinsured individuals living with HIV across eight parishes. Through our Office of Health Policy and AIDS Funding, we ensure comprehensive care reaches those who need it most in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, and St. Tammany parishes.

Our Mission: Ending HIV

As part of the Fast Track Cities initiative, New Orleans is committed to ambitious goals in HIV prevention and treatment. We're working toward ensuring 90% of individuals know their status, receive antiretroviral therapy, and achieve viral suppression. Additional funding through the Ending the HIV Epidemic program helps expand these vital services.

Prevention and Testing

Prevention remains key to ending the HIV epidemic. We offer:

  • Free, anonymous HIV testing
  • Access to PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) medication
  • Educational resources
  • Support services

Visit the Louisiana Health Hub to find testing locations and learn more about prevention options.
