Tips to prepare for applying for a Non-Commercial Short Term Rental permit (NSTR) in July
On April 6, City Council passed a law that directly affects existing RSTR and ISTR permit holders. All RSTR and ISTR permits will expire on August 31, 2023. RSTR permit applications and renewal application fees will be prorated given this new expiration date.

Memorandum B-23-01: Short Term Rental (STR) and Bed & Breakfast properties with more than five (5) bedrooms* overall will require a building permit to change their use for compliance with the International Building Code (IBC) 2021 and require approval from the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.
* Note that Short Term Rental regulations do not permit STRs to offer or advertise more than five (5) bedrooms for rent.
