On Saturday, January 25th, 2025, The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office held its first quarter Roundtable centered on Public Safety Awareness for over 140 hospitality professionals.
The Roundtable was held at Basin Street Station on the edge of the French Quarter and those in attendance received updates regarding safety and security preparations from Mayor LaToya Cantrell and NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick. In addition to updates from the Mayor and Police Superintendent, residents received a Security and Awareness Training session from our federal partners at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to equip hospitality industry professionals with information and resources to observe, assess, and report concerns. This specialized Roundtable allowed for city leaders and federal partners to engage with residents who work in the hospitality industry as Mardi Gras approaches.
