Home » Short Term Rental Administration » Announcements » A message from the Healthy Homes Administration
June 6, 2024 | From City of New Orleans
As of January 1, 2024, there are new requirements for the Healthy Homes Ordinance. These requirements apply to all rental properties. This includes short term rentals and long term rentals.
Per the Healthy Homes Ordinance, all rental property owners are required to register their rental units with the Healthy Homes Administration. The registry process will use a phased approach, based on the total number of units on each parcel. Rental owners must register during the following periods:
Parcels with 50+ dwelling units - PAST DUE
Parcels with 4-49 dwelling units - July 1, 2024 – Aug. 15, 2024
Parcels with 1-3 dwelling units - Jan. 1, 2025 – Feb. 15, 2025.
Registration is mandatory and separate from the STR application. Registration is required regardless of whether an STR applicant receives an STR license.
Healthy Homes registration applications for properties with between 4 and 49 units will be accepted between July 1st and August 15th. Properties with 1-3 units are required to register beginning in 2025. Register online via the OneStopApp during your required registration period.
