NSTR License Renewal Period Begins Tomorrow!
All issued NSTR Licenses are set to expire on June 30, 2025. You should have the option to renew your license in your OneStopApp account as early as May 31, 2025. Permitholders who remain in good standing with the Department of Safety and Permits will be eligible to apply for renewal of the NSTR License. This will require:
- A complete application, to include all attachments required during the initial application period. License holders will have five calendar days to submit any missing documents during the renewal process;
- Permittees must submit their renewal application before June 16, 2025;
- Payment of permit fees within five (5) calendar days of application approval;
- A valid operator license (issued or application filed);
- Proof of completion of a short-term rental course to be provided by the Department (code word provided via NSTR Required training);
- Satisfaction of all judgments, liens, fines, and fees related to the property;
- Resolution of any electrical, mechanical, or work without permit violations; and
- Closure of all open building permits or written approval of the Chief Building Official for renewal despite the open permit.
NSTR License holders whose licenses have been revoked or rescinded are not eligible for renewal. If a license holder fails to renew timely, the square will be eligible for participation in the next quarterly lottery (if applicable).

Please be advised that during this renewal period, your property may be subject to an inspection. You must respond to any requests for inspection within 72 hours of the request.
An owner may avoid an inspection by voluntarily forfeiting his or her NSTR License, in which case the license shall be deemed revoked.

The Healthy Homes ordinance requires that all rental dwelling units must be registered, including Short-Term Rentals. Your must REGISTER to obtain a Certificate of Compliance to rent long-term and short-term. The deadline to REGISTER your rental property is June 15, 2025. If you do not register by the deadline, your renewal app WILL BE DENIED. Registration is available online via the One Stop App.
