Short Term Rentals in Orleans Parish are regulated through the Short Term Rental Administration, a part of the Department of Safety and Permits. The STR Office is located on the 8th floor of 1340 Poydras St., providing direct access to many of the City’s essential regulatory departments.
NSTR (Non-Commercial Short Term Rental)
Application period: March 8th, 2026 - March 14th, 2026
Lottery Date: April 14th, 2026 at 12:00 PM
Office Hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
NSTR Training Dates:
- Monday, March 2nd, 2026
- Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026
- Friday, March 6th, 2026
The NSTR required lottery training will be held live streamed via Teams.

Short Term Rental Attestation
CSTR (Commercial Short Term Rental)
Short-Term Rental licenses are non-transferrable. All new Commercial STR applicants must now first go through the Conditional Use process prior to applying for the CSTR License. Once the conditional use is approved, applicants can submit the following:
- Picture ID
- Floorplan
- Evacuation plan
- Please submit the attached form to include the OWNER ATTESTATION, noise abatement, sanitation & security operation plans.
Please also note that effective July 1, 2023, a noise monitoring device is required for all Commercial Short Term Rentals.
