Blue & Green Corridors

 

 

The Blue & Green Corridors project will introduce a comprehensive rethinking of streetscapes to combine rainfall management with symbiotic community benefits. The proposed 'Corridors' will function as multimodal transportation connections, waterways that will retain rainfall, as well as public social spaces. The project has been debundled and is being constructed in two distinct phases. 

• Phase I~ (Elysian Fields Ave~Filmore Ave to Allen Toussaint Blvd; and Allen Tousaint Blvd- London Ave Canal to Franklin Ave) 
• Phase II~ (Filmore Ave- London Ave Canal to Franklin Ave; seven distinct local Parks in the neighborhood)

2026 Community Pre-Construction Meeting

• On April 21, 2026 a preconstruction meeting was held with the Gentilly community to signify the beginning of the Blue Green Phase I Project. The Notice to Proceed with construction was issued on May 18, 2026.
