The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA) [Public Law 113-128] provides Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth funding to the City of New Orleans for the provision of employment and training services. WIOA requires each local Workforce Development Board to develop and submit to the State a regional and local comprehensive four-year plan.
The regional and local plans are required to be modified after two years. The 2020-2024 plans have been modified to align with the State Plan. The local and regional plans are effective July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2024.
In accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, Section 108(d), the New Orleans Workforce Development Board is making the modified local and regional plans available for public comments for a 30-day period (March 2, 2023 – April 1, 2023) prior to submission to the State. Please submit all comments to Sunae Villavaso, Director of the Office of Workforce Development, at Sunae.Villavaso@nola.gov by 4:00pm on Monday, April 3, 2023.
