Firefighters Respond to One-Alarm Fire in Rue Parc Fontaine Apartments

On Tuesday, May 16, 2017 the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) received a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire in the 3100 block of Rue Parc Fontaine at approximately 5:22 p.m. The first company arrived on the scene of 3101 Rue Parc Fontaine at 5:28 p.m. and found smoke coming from a front window of a first floor apartment in a two-story wood-framed multi-unit apartment complex. While performing a primary search of the apartment, firefighters found the resident hiding in the back bedroom closet. The woman was transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

 

In all seven NOFD units carrying twenty-one fire Operation personnel were used to bring this incident under control at 5:40 p.m. The New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS), the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and the American Red Cross also assisted with the mitigation of this incident. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
