What will the Task Force do?
The PN-3 Climate Action Task Force will:
- Review citywide climate-related plans to identify strengths and weaknesses for the prenatal-to-three community
- Work with stakeholders and the community to understand gaps between plans and community needs
- Develop recommendations to advance prenatal-to-three action in plan and policy development
Why do we need this Task Force?
- The environment can shape child development and can have both positive and negative impacts on lifelong health.
- Sensitivity of developing biological systems is greatest during the prenatal period.
- Chronic and costly diseases of adulthood are often rooted in exposures during prenatal and early childhood.
- Emergency planning for inclement weather is often challenging for families, caregivers, and educators.
