Sign Company Registration

According to the Code of the City of New Orleans Sec. 134-41, any person who engages as a business in the erection, placement, leasing or permitting of others to use signs shall first obtain a registration from the department of safety and permits to do so.

Registration Process

New license applicants must first submit a complete application package based on their type of license request to tradelicenseinfo@nola.gov. All applications are subject to be reviewed by a team member.

Required Documents

All documents are required to be saved and attached as separate PDF or PNG or JPEG to your email.

• SIGN COMPANY REGISTRATION APPLICATION
• Government Issued Photo Identification Card (driver 's license, passport, military ID, state ID) required for all Owners, Principal Officers and Authorized Agents listed on the application.
• Submit proof of Orleans Parish Occupational/General Business License.
  • ​If you are outside of Orleans Parish, an Orleans Parish Certificate of Registration is required. You can register with the City of New Orleans, Bureau of Revenue, City Hall, Room 1W15  with a copy of your Parish Occupational License. Renewal Process

Sign Company Registrations can be renewed online through the One Stop App. Attach all required documents to your renewal application in the One Stop App.

Duration

Licenses expire on the last day of each year.  Renewal periods start 90 days before the last day of each calendar year.

Fees

• Annual Sign Contractor Registration Fee: $400
• Delinquent Fee: $10 per month past expiration date

Pick-up

The qualifying party or authorized agent is required to pick-up their City of New Orleans Trade License card. License pick-up is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM from the Department of Safety and Permits offices located at 1340 Poydras St, Suite 800, New Orleans, LA 70112.
