According to the International Code Council (ICC) and Louisiana Contractors Board as adopted by the City of New Orleans, mechanical contractors performing work within the City of New Orleans are required to obtain and renew annually a Stationary Engineer's License from the City.
Expires on the license holder’s day of birth (as printed on issued Trade License card). Renewal periods starts 90 days before the license holder’s birthday.
New license applicants must first submit a complete application package based on their type of license request to tradelicenseinfo@nola.gov. All applications are subject to be reviewed by a team member. Upon completion of the review and all requirements are met, the applicant (qualifying party) will receive a scheduled appointment to come into our office in person for the processing of their license. All documents are required to be saved and attached as separate PDF or PNG or JPEG to your email.
Stationary Engineer's Licenses can be renewed online through the One Stop App. Attach all required documents to your renewal application in the One Stop App.
The qualifying party or authorized agent is required to pick-up their City of New Orleans Trade License card. License pick-up is avaliable Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM from the Department of Safety and Permits offices located at 1340 Poydras St, Suite 800, New Orleans, LA 70112.
