According to the Code of the City of New Orleans, CCNO 26.15, any company or individual wishing to act as a third-party inspection service provider in the City of New Orleans must first file a registration application with the Director of Safety and Permits on a form provided for that purpose.
Registration Process
New license applicants must first submit a complete application package based on their type of license request to tradelicenseinfo@nola.gov. All applications are subject to be reviewed by a team member. Upon completion of the review and all requirements are met, the applicant (qualifying party) will receive a scheduled appointment to come into our office in person for the processing of their license.

All documents are required to be saved and attached as separate PDF or PNG or JPEG to your email.

- Proof of Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council Registration
- Proof of International Code Council certifications selected in the Type of Application section
- Government issued photo identification card of applicant (e.g. driver's license, passport, military ID, etc.)
- Occupational License or Registration from the City of New Orleans Department of Finance
- Proof of commercial general liability insurance of not less than $500,000, naming the City of New Orleans as an additional insurance party. For Insurance purposes, the City of New Orleans Safety & Permits address is 1340 Poydras St., Suite 800, New Orleans, LA 70112
- Color passport photo or self-taken picture yearly.
- PICTURE REQUIREMENTS: taken within 3 to 6 months for the date of application. Facing the camera, standing up, the top of the head to shoulders, no images in the background of the picture, no hats.
- Attach a copy of your Instrest Disclosure and/or Office Members (any person who has financial, benedicial, legal, or competing interest as defined by the law to be issued or renewed). Include the names, legal addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses for all interested parties.
Renewal Process
Third-Party Service Provider Licenses can be renewed online through the One Stop App. Attach all required documents to your renewal application in the One Stop App.

Duration
All Third-Party Service Providers are required to renew their license annually, 30-90 days before the license expires.
- Individual license holders’ license expires on the license holder’s day of birth. Individual license holders’ renewal period starts 90 days before the license holder’s birthday.
Fees
- New Registration: $200.00
- Renewal: $75.00
- Delinquent Fee: $30.00 per month, or portion thereof past expiration date, in addtional to the renewal fee
Pick-Up
The qualifying party or authorized agent is required to pick-up their City of New Orleans Trade License card. License pick-up is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM from the Department of Safety and Permits offices located at 1340 Poydras St, Suite 800, New Orleans, LA 70112.
