TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closure on Interstate 610 for Streetlight Repairs

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LaDOTD), will close the westbound right lane along the stretch of Interstate 610 between Elysian Fields Avenue and the London Avenue Canal starting Wednesday, May 8 at approximately 9 a.m. This closure will also include the Elysian Fields Avenue Overpass, Interstate 610 on-ramp at Elysian Fields Avenue and Broad Street off-ramp. For more details, please refer to the attached map.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Intersection Closure of Saint Charles Avenue and Adams Street

The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Renegade Construction, LLC will temporarily close the intersection of Saint Charles Avenue and Adams Street for approximately 24 hours to accommodate water utilities connections as a part of the East Carrollton B & C construction project. Signage and traffic control measures, such as barrels and fencing, will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.

City of New Orleans Announces Confirmation of Howard E. "Trey" Nobles as Director of Property Management

The City of New Orleans today announced the confirmation of Howard E. “Trey” Nobles as the Director of the Department of Property Management. Nobles was appointed as Acting Director of Property Management in January and was unanimously confirmed by the New Orleans City Council today, May 2. He has served the City of New Orleans in multiple compacities since 2015.

On May 7, 2018, LaToya Cantrell made history as New Orleans’ first woman mayor in its 300-year history. After that historic victory, Mayor Cantrell was inaugurated to a second term on January 10, 2022. Her passion for the City of Yes and her dedication to its residents remains stronger than ever.

Mayor Cantrell remains focused on the issues of public safety, infrastructure, affordable housing and improving the quality of life for all New Orleans residents.
