Chapter 66 Grass Cutting Program

The City of New Orleans’ can cut the grass on private property when the owners’ fail to do so.

How does the City cut grass?

Through the Chapter 66 Grass Cutting program, the City aims to:

  • Prioritize tipping point neighborhoods and lots near occupied properties, schools, and investments
  • Recover costs by billing the property owners for the cuts
  • Build public trust by quickly responding to resident’s requests
