Application Period Opening for Accessible Taxicabs

On February 1, 2016, the Department of Safety and Permits will begin accepting applications for Accessible Taxicab CPNCs, which will expand transportation options for people with disabilities by requiring operation of taxicabs which meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.  Application forms will be available at the One Stop Shop and online beginning Monday, January 25.

AT-CPNC Holder Requirements

Any person or entity seeking to hold At-CPNCs is limited to a maximum of 10 AT-CPNC numbers. All other standards applicable to CPNC Holders apply to holders of AT-CPNCs.  Complete eligibility requirements can be found in Section 162-201 of the City Code.

Operation Requirements

AT-CPNC operators can function like a standard taxicab, but they must give priority to service requests from people with disabilities and those who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters.  AT-CPNC operators cannot accept another fare while en route to a service call by a person with a disability.
