NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans has joined President Biden and the Economic Development Administration (EDA) in announcing a Louisiana State University (LSU)-led consortium, Gulf Louisiana Offshore Wind (GLOW) Propeller, as one of only 31 newly designated Tech Hubs positioned to revitalize American manufacturing, create jobs and strengthen U.S. economic and national security within a decade. LSU’s GLOW Propeller was selected from hundreds of applicants from 48 states.

City of New Orleans, New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, Bayou Phoenix and Industrial Development Board Achieve Critical Milestones for Six Flags Redevelopment

The City of New Orleans today announced the approval of a development agreement between the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) and Bayou Phoenix for the former Six Flags/Jazzland site in New Orleans East. The NORA Board of Commissioners also approved an agreement with the Industrial Development Board (IDB) to transfer the property from the IDB to NORA and an agreement with the City of New Orleans, committing $1 million towards the redevelopment project, as well as maintenance and security at the site.

The City of New Orleans today announced it has been selected to participate in the inaugural Economic Mobility Leadership Institute (EMLI), created by the African American Mayors Association (AAMA), of which Mayor LaToya Cantrell is a member, and supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The EMLI project will begin in January.
