Pay sales tax

Some businesses are required to register, obtain a license, and collect and remit taxes to the Bureau of Revenue - Sales Tax. These businesses will be mailed tax returns each month and will be required to remit the taxes to the Bureau of Revenue by the 20th of the month following the month of collection.

The online payment portal hosted by the Bureau of Revenue allows you to renew your occupational license and pay sales taxes securely and conveniently. The website is reliable and designed to save you time, with taxes calculated automatically. Through eServices, you may submit payments via ACH debit or by credit card, including Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Form 8000R: Riverwalk – Spanish Plaza Economic Development District Sales Tax

On October 10th, 2024, the City Council passed a resolution (R-2023-4D) to implement an additional 2% sales tax for all merchants in the Riverwalk – Spanish Plaza District.  

Effective November 1st, 2024, all merchants located in the Riverwalk-Spanish Plaza remitting 5% City sales taxes are required to collect an additional 2% tax and file an 8000-R tax form in addition to filing Form 8071. 

The new, additional 2% sales tax MUST be paid via separate check. Do not include the regular 5% (Form 8071) payments with the new 2% sales tax payment. Please pay the regular 5% tax with your normal filing method.

Magnolia Marketplace Economic Development District Sales Tax

On May 16th, 2013, the City Council passed an ordinance (025511) to implement an additional 1% sales tax for all merchants in the Magnolia Marketplace Economic Development District.

All merchants located in the Magnolia Marketplace Economic Development District remitting 5% City sales taxes are required to collect an additional 1% tax and file an 8000-G tax form in addition to filing Form 8071.
