Certificate of Occupancy (Home Business)

A Certificate of Occupancy is required for home-based businesses operating in City of New Orleans- Orleans Parish only. Each business location must be inspected and approved for operation by the Department of Safety and Permits.

Apply online at the One Stop App or fill out and submit the Occupational License Application
Acknowledgment of Limitations on Home Occupations
Letter from property owner giving permission for property use for the permit purpose
If the residence is owned by the Federal government, a letter from the management company giving permission must be attached
If the application is related to taxi service, a Certificate of Public Necessity and Convenience (CPNC) number is required
Recorded Act of Sale, if the property has recently changed ownership
