City of New Orleans Announces Chief Financial Officer Norman L. White to Take on New Role with Louis Armstrong International Airport

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that Norman L. White will transition to a new role at the Louis Armstrong International Airport and is stepping down as the City's Chief Financial Officer, effective April 12.

White has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance since 2018 and has been an invaluable member of the administration, utilizing his expertise to advance the City’s fiscal responsibility and revenue recovery while navigating the City's financial position through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Ida.

Effective as of the end of White's tenure, Romy Schofield-Samuel will serve as Interim Director of Finance for the City of New Orleans. Schofield-Samuel brings a wealth of experience and over 30 years within the Department of Finance, most recently holding the position as Collector of Revenue for more than 18 years.  

Pursuant to the Home Rule Charter, Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montaño has provided official documentation regarding the interim appointment of Schofield-Samuel to the New Orleans City Council to transition to a permanent role upon Council confirmation.
