July 18, 2022 | From New Orleans Fire Department
The City of New Orleans has been in the process of conducting much needed renovations and upgrades to several New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) engine house locations. Most recently renovations have been completed at both Engine 38 (4940 Clara St.) and Engine 27/Ladder 11 (2118 Elysian Fields Ave.), allowing NOFD Fire Operations personnel to move back into their respective permanent quarters. Engine 8, located at 3330 Florida Ave., is the next engine house in line for renovations. We expect the repairs and upgrades to take several weeks. In the meantime, Engine 8 will respond from the quarters of Engine 24, at 1040 Poland Ave. These renovations will be an ongoing process and we will make notifications to the public as others come online. Rest assured, these renovations and temporary relocations will not affect the level of service provided by the New Orleans Fire Department and our Firefighters. The NOFD is committed to providing the best possible service to the residents of New Orleans and these upgrades to our engine houses will play a significant role in the NOFD maintaining its Class 1 rating.
