How do I get started?

1. Get started by joining the New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps.
    
2. Make sure that your CPR certification is active until February 13, 2024.
   • If your CPR certification is no longer active, please take a new class before January 1, 2024.

     • City of New Orleans-provided American Heart Association BLS class - 
        
3. Attend a Mardi Gras First Aid Station orientation.
   • Orientation dates are in January 2024. You must be signed up through the New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps, NOLA Ready Volunteer Corps, New Orleans EMS VIGOR program, or American Red Cross to sign-up for these trainings.
      
4. Are you an experienced leader? Consider becoming a First Aid Station Lead to get additional training on medical crisis response and working within the City's Incident Command Structure.
