Disaster Grants Management Specialist
Responsible for the drafting of all FEMA/ GOHSEP correspondence, coordination of supporting documentation, and overall grant management. Coordinate with Capital Projects (CPA) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) Project Managers to analyze project costs for FEMA eligibility determinations. Draft time extensions and grant amendment requests to FEMA as needed. Responsible for providing quarterly project reporting updates in accordance with all criteria identified by FEMA/ GOHSEP. Interface with FEMA project officers to work through scope eligibility concerns. Responds to all Requests for Information (RFIs) issued by FEMA/ GOHSEP.
Preferred candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, mathematics, or computer science.
Must be highly experienced in FEMA/ GOHSEP policy and procedures concerning grants management, data management, closeout procedures, and quarterly reporting. Proven experience with Federal grants is required.
Skills and Knowledge
Thoroughly familiar with LAPA website portal and FEMA policy. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the construction and roads infrastructure environments. Proficiency with Microsoft’s Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be proactive and abreast of all FEMA policy and guidance.
