Service Standards

 

Service standards are guidelines to funded agencies to provide high-quality care to PLWH. These comprehensive service standards are designed to ensure that care delivery is consistent, effective, and tailored to the community's diverse needs. They encompass critical areas such as medical care, case management, support services, and client engagement strategies. Service Standards are available for Ryan White Part A and Ending the HIV Epidemic grants.

 

RWSR Policies and Procedures

RWSR is focused on ensuring that all healthcare providers adhere to comprehensive policies and procedures that guide the delivery of HIV care and support services. These policies are designed to promote consistency, accountability, and quality in service delivery, addressing key areas such as client confidentiality, data management, service delivery standards, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Ryan White Part B Program

The Ryan White Part B Program provides essential support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS who may not have adequate health coverage. This program focuses on improving access to care and ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive services tailored to their needs. Part B funding supports critical components such as outpatient medical care, prescription medications, and essential support services that enhance overall health outcomes.

In Louisiana, the Part B Program works collaboratively with local health departments and community-based organizations to ensure that individuals living with HIV have the resources and care they need. This includes initiatives to address barriers to care, promote health literacy, and support mental health and substance use issues.

Louisiana Department of Health - STD/HIV and Hepatitis C Program (LDH SHHP)

This state department oversees initiatives related to HIV prevention and care, including surveillance, education, and treatment programs. The LDH SHHP works to reduce new infections and improve health outcomes for individuals living with HIV. They provide various resources, including testing locations and educational materials. Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA)

HOPWA is a federal program designed to provide housing assistance to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. It aims to ensure that PLWH have access to stable housing, which is crucial for maintaining health and accessing care. AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

ADAP provides medications to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are uninsured or underinsured. This program helps ensure that individuals can access life-saving antiretroviral therapy (ART) and other necessary medications. Eligibility requirements and application processes can vary by state.

 

Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI)

LPHI is focused on improving public health outcomes in Louisiana, including addressing HIV and STI prevention and care. They engage in collaborative efforts to enhance access to services, promote education, and reduce the stigma associated with HIV. This grant supports local initiatives focused on diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and outbreak response, enabling RWSR to enhance its efforts in combating HIV and improving health outcomes for individuals in our care.

CDC Ending the HIV Epidemic Grant The CDC Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) grant offers funding to support public health initiatives aimed at reducing HIV transmission and improving care for those living with HIV. This grant provides essential resources that allow RWSR to implement effective diagnosis and prevention strategies, ultimately enhancing our community’s response to the HIV epidemic.
