Film Office Partners with New Orleans Film Society, Fertel Foundation on 'From NOLA with Love' Screening Series

NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy, through its Film Office, is partnering with the New Orleans Film Society and the Fertel Foundation on "From NOLA With Love," a film screening series of short and feature films.
"Now more than ever, we are being innovative and creative in the way we are experiencing our culture, and streaming content has become a part of this brave new frontier. The City is excited and proud to support our film-making community by making it easier for our residents to experience amazing home-grown talent and support these artists at the same time," said Lisa Alexis, Director, Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy. "We want to thank the New Orleans Film Society and the Fertel Foundation for helping make this happen."
Though June 1, the series will stream 40 shorts and feature films created by Louisiana filmmakers. (The lineup includes the documentary short "Migration," pictured above, directed by Syd Horn and Olivia Perillo.) All of the films and shorts were presented at the 2019 New Orleans Film Festival. To purchase a pass, visit the New Orleans Film Society here. Viewers may buy a pass for $35 to access all films, or unlock each feature-length film or short-film program for $10 each.
"Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the filmmakers to provide them with support in a time of need during the COVID-19 outbreak," said Carroll Morton, Director, New Orleans Film Office. "The filmmakers' Venmo accounts will also provide an opportunity for additional support to show viewer appreciation for the work of New Orleans' cultural artists.
