2019 Neighborhood Leaders Roundtables

Hurricane Prepardness & Blight Remediation

Saturday, June 22, 2019

On the morning of Saturday, June 22nd at the interesting Mosquito and Rodent Control Building, nearly 100 neighborhood leaders from all across New Orleans gathered for the second Neighborhood Leaders’ Roundtable of 2019. Our fantastic lineup of guest speakers included NOLA Ready project manager, Laura Mellem, Deputy Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Ronnie Henderson, and City of New Orleans Director of Code Enforcement, Winston Reid.

Much was learned about preparing for emergencies including hurricanes, evacuation support for special needs citizens, the critical importance to have homeowners and flood insurance, and the efforts that Code Enforcement are making to clean the city and make it more vibrant.  Excellent questions were asked by your fellow residents, and a good discussion was had.

Thank you to all of our engaged and enthusiastic attendees, and to all of our informative guest speakers. We hope you can join us at the next Roundtable!
