The City of New Orleans continues to update residents on Hurricane Francine emergency preparations. Hurricane Francine is expected to make landfall along the Louisiana coast today as a Category 1 hurricane.

City of New Orleans Hosts Readiness Event to Enhance Public Safety during Special Major Events

 In partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD), the City of New Orleans is hosting a multiday readiness event from Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22. The purpose of this initiative is continuous collaboration, preparedness and improvements for local, state and federal first responders to address tactical, radiological, nuclear and chemical scenarios and to enhance future operations.

New Orleans EMS Reminds Residents of the Dangers of Children in Hot Cars after "Near Miss"

New Orleans EMS is reminding residents that children should never be left unattended in vehicles after responding to a call for service in which a small child was unintentionally locked in a hot car.
