CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ANNOUNCES MARDI GRAS CLEAN-UP OPERATIONS JOB FAIR
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation and JOB1 today announced the 2023 Mardi Gras Clean-Up Operations Job Fair to recruit more than 200 temporary employees during the Carnival season. The job fair will take place on the following dates:
- Saturday, Jan. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clover (1600 Constance St.)
- Tuesday, Jan. 17 - Thursday, Jan. 19, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milne Rec Center (5420 Franklin Ave.)
Individuals can pre-register here or in person at the Milne Rec Center on the days of the job fair. Attendees must bring their social security card and state-approved photo identification card in order to participate in the 2023 Mardi Gras Clean-Up Operations.
Temporary employees will earn $15 an hour, with the potential to work up to 100 hours during the two-week Mardi Gras parade season from Feb. 10 to Feb. 21.
“Due to the success of the partnership between the Department of Sanitation and JOB1, we have expanded the program each year to benefit as many residents as possible," said Sanitation Director Matt Torri. "We are very pleased that this partnership extends beyond Mardi Gras, as we hire a number of persons who have gained valuable skills as a result of JOB1’s readiness programs."
The Job Fair is sponsored by the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation and the Office of Workforce Development.
