Get Catch Basin Assistance

The City of New Orleans is working closely with residents and business owners to Adopt A Catch Basin on their block and help improve drainage conditions throughout the City. Eighty five percent of the City's clogged catch basins are full of leaves and grass clippings that can be easily and safely removed by residents like you!

To Participate:

  1. Select a catch basin on the map, adopt it, and give it a name.
  2. Sweep out the debris (leaves, trash, dirt, beads) from in front of the catch basin, bag it, and throw it away.
  3. Watch the catch basin during the next storm.
  4. Let us know how it works!

You can call 311 or visit NOLA 311 online to report a clogged or damaged catch basin. The 311 Customer Service Agent will take down the nearest physical address of the catch basin, and issue you a ticket number. That ticket will then be sent to the Department of Public Works for assessment.
